My husband, Phil, and I came to ACRM in October of 2015. We had already been told by two fertility doctors that if we wanted a family we needed to use a surrogate. By the time we met with Dr. Carpenter, I had already undergone two uterine fibroids surgeries. Combined with my age, 44, doctors were not optimistic that I would be able to be pregnant.
Dr. Carpenter had a different outlook. At our first meeting, she gave us hope that I would be able to carry a child. After passing all the hurdles thrown our way over the next 6 months, in March of 2016 we underwent our first embryo transfer. Our dreams came true 10 days later when Dr. Carpenter called and told us we were pregnant. On November 14, 2016, we welcomed our miracle baby into the world. A healthy, beautiful baby girl.
We can’t recommenced ACRM enough. They know how to take care of their patients. With the exception of my first lining check at the start of our IVF cycle, I was able to see Dr. Carpenter for every visit. We also want to give a big shout out to our IVF nurse Mirrin Reagan. She is wonderful, always returned my emails and phone calls the same day and calmed my nerves when needed (which was most of the time). Everyone there from the receptionists to the billing department to the lab technicians are wonderful. They understand this journey is daunting and heartbreaking. We are forever grateful for everyone at ACRM.
