Atlanta Infertility Treatment & Care
Comprehensive Treatments for Infertility
Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine offers full diagnostic testing
and all therapies for state-of-the-art infertility treatment. ACRM delivers
advanced care with a personal touch. We emphasize quality of treatment
combined with human warmth. As specialists in Reproductive Endocrinology,
we can quickly arrive at a diagnosis and formulate an efficient, effective therapy.
Our infertility treatments offer all advanced reproductive technologies
such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection
(ICSI), egg freezing, and preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD).
Our physicians can provide full evaluation and treatment for the sources of infertility,
including:
- Polycystic ovary disease
- Premature ovarian failure
- Recurrent pregnancy loss
- Endometriosis
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
While there is much in the news media and on the Internet about high-tech
assisted reproductive technologies (ART) like IVF, most couples facing
infertility can be helped with lower level treatments. After a cause of
infertility is diagnosed, physicians first consider traditional reproductive
treatment with fertility drugs and
intrauterine insemination (IUI), if fallopian tubes are patent and semen quality is adequate. With IUI,
also referred to as artificial insemination, millions of sperm are placed
directly into the uterus when the woman is most fertile, immediately prior
to and during ovulation.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is the fertilization of an egg by sperm outside the body. Once fertilization
has occurred and normal embryo development is confirmed, it is transferred
to the uterus. If implantation occurs, the remaining development of the
embryo occurs naturally within the mother.
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) includes both Preimplantation Genetic
Screening (PGS) and
Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), and refers to testing that is performed on embryos that are derived from
the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) process. PGS allows the IVF team to determine
which embryos have a normal number of chromosomes, whereas PGD diagnoses
embryos that are affected by a specific disease. PGS and PGD can be performed
separately or together, and ACRM has extensive experience with these technologies.
Egg Freezing & Fertility Preservation
For many years freezing of fertilized eggs has been a routine part of IVF
treatments. New developments in freezing technology however make
unfertilized egg freezing now a practical option for those needing donor eggs or wishing to freeze
their own eggs.
Male Factor Infertility
There are multiple causes of infertility. The three biggest individual
causes are abnormalities of ovulation, abnormalities of the fallopian
tubes and
male factors. These 3 factors account for some 80% of cases of infertility, and the
male alone is the cause in 20-35% of cases of infertility.
Egg Donor Program
For many couples, choosing to use donated eggs provides the only realistic
option for fulfilling their dream of parenthood.
Egg Donors and Recipients are each evaluated to ensure their appropriateness for
this specialized therapy.
LGBT Family Building
We are very sensitive to the unique needs of our
LGBT patients and any special needs they have in family building. In addition, we provide
the necessary referrals to facilitate the family building process. Such
referrals include those to attorneys specializing in reproductive and
adoption law.
Gestational Carrier (Surrogacy)
A
gestational carrier or surrogate is one who has no genetic ties to the child, but will carry
and deliver a child for an individual or couple. Typically, IVF is used
to create embryos outside the womb, and then transfer those embryos back
into the surrogate's uterus.
Ground Breaking Robotic Surgery
Occasionally, infertility patients require reproductive surgery to enhance
their chance of conceiving. ACRM is the only Atlanta infertility treatment
clinic that offers minimally invasive surgery using the technologically
advanced da Vinci Surgical System. Dr. Robin Fogle has undergone extensive
training in order to use and make this state of the art robotic surgical
system available to ACRM patients.
