Our Success Rates for Egg Recipients
To assist you in making decisions regarding your therapy options, we are providing our Center's success rates for your review. Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine has carried out over more than 3,000 egg retrievals for IVF or Donor Egg since opening in November 1998; the data presented here are from January 2008 through December 2008. Patient ages ranged from 25 to 42.Be aware that there will be different success rates among patients of different ages and according to the reasons for undergoing IVF. Younger patients have higher rates of success than do older patients, and some diagnostic groups such as tubal factor may have higher success rates as well. We will do our best to predict your chances based on your personal history.
In an effort to reduce the risk of triplet and quadruplet pregnancy, we limit the number of embryos transferred to 2 below age 38 in most cases. This has been successful in reducing the multiple pregnancy risk, while at the same time maintaining high pregnancy rates, as shown below:
ACRM Pregnancy Rates 2008
689 cycles from our IVF and Donor Egg program in 2008 are included. In the graph above, the numerators indicate the number of pregnancies (defined as a positive pregnancy test) and clinical pregnancies (defined as the detection of a pregnancy in the uterine cavity by ultrasound) that occurred, and denominators indicate the number of cycles in which embryos were transferred into the uterus. The number of cycles in each pair of columns are: 237, 129, 95, 28, 78, 71, and 51 respectively.
